Country Fashion Trends for 2024

Country Fashion Trends for 2024

As we start early 2024 with snow, sunshine and a healthy dose of BBC’s The Traitor’s. We have Claudia Winkleman to thank for a growing interest in the Country Fashion scene. With Clauds in mind, there are several trending topics in countrywear and country fashion that we think will feature prominently throughout the year! Here are some key trends:

1. Sustainability and Ethical Fashion: There's a growing demand for sustainable and ethically produced countrywear. Brands are more often focusing on eco-friendly materials, ethical production processes, and durable products that last longer, reducing waste.

2. Heritage with a Modern Twist: Classic country styles are being reimagined with modern touches. This includes updating traditional fabrics like tweed and wool with contemporary cuts and colours.

3. Technical Fabrics in Traditional Styles: The integration of technical, performance-oriented fabrics into classic country clothing designs. This innovation offers more comfort, durability, and weather resistance without sacrificing that country style we’ve come to know and love.

4. Outdoor and Leisure Crossover: An increasing crossover between outdoor apparel and traditional country fashion, reflecting a lifestyle that combines rural living with active, outdoor pursuits. We think brands like Ridgeline do this really well, style meets practicality!

5. Versatile, Layered Outfits: Multi-functional pieces that can be layered and worn in various settings, from countryside walks to casual urban outings, are in vogue. This trend reflects a desire for versatility and value, something which we are always on board with. We want you to enjoy your buys time and again, and we are always happy to give styling advice.

6. Bold Patterns and Colours: While traditional countrywear often features earthy tones, there's a trend towards incorporating bolder patterns and brighter colours, adding a fresh and lively twist to classic styles. The way Gant brings colour to their Sportswear and more tailored pieces has been something we’ve long admired.

7. Luxury and Craftsmanship: High-quality materials and craftsmanship remain key in country fashion, with a focus on luxury items that are both stylish and durable. From British wool to the finest silk, quality is always a key focus in all we do.

8. Country Chic in Urban Settings: Country fashion elements are increasingly being incorporated into urban wardrobe choices, blurring the lines between city and rural style. Thanks in particular to Claudia’s wardrobe on this seasons Traitor’s. Blending fabrics and country colours with more “high fashion” elements has really got us excited, and we are definitely here for this trend.

9. Footwear Innovation: Practical yet stylish footwear, including waterproof boots and comfortable, durable walking shoes, is trending. There's a focus on combining traditional designs with modern technology. Ariat are great at this, their footwear is so reliable and they are always innovating.

The Final Message: These trends reflect a broader movement in fashion towards sustainability and functionality, while maintaining a strong sense of style and connection to traditional country aesthetics that we’ve always been so fond of. We think it’s exciting that Countrywear is having its day and we love nothing more than seeing how different people style the same pieces!
